A ver q tal sale.

Jean Claude Van Damme will be spending more time at his plush Wall Tower Apartment Suite in Downtown Vancouver this summer as his sophomore directorial effort Kumite is set to shoot in town (1996’s The Quest was his first).

He'll be be pulling quadruple duty on this film as he is set to Direct/Write/Produce/Star in the Bloodsport like film about the deady underground martial arts sport - Kumite. The film even co-stars Bolo Yueng from Bloodsport fame, who was once a student of Bruce Lee. Sixty-Five year old Yueng will play Tao Lon the rival-turned-teacher to Van Damme’s Vic Latour, the only westerner to ever win the Championship of the Kumite. In the synopsis Latour “returns to defend his title after years of alcoholism and despair.” The film has a budget of $14 million US and is set to start production this July in Vancouver with some work also being done in Puerto Rico.
