With R. Werneck

Last month, BJJ black belt Fabricio Werdum declared to GRACIE Magazine that he wants to join Chute Boxe to advance his MMA career. According to him, the main goal is to train with Wanderlei Silva and all his partners, as Werdum considers them the best in the world of MMA fights.

Asked about the possibility of receiving another Jiu-Jitsu star in his team, like recent additions Jorge Patino 'Macaco' and Antonio 'Elvis' Schembri, the Chute Boxe head manager, Rudimar Fedrigo, reacts with enthusiasm.

'Rafael Cordeiro and I heard about Werdum's interest in joining us and we liked it. We consider him a tough fighter, a great Jiu-Jitsu champion and he is a good name to be part of our team. His coming to Chute Boxe is very possible', said Rudimar.

Werdum finished 2nd in the heavyweight division and 3rd in the Absolutes in the ADCC 2003, these results make him a very strong candidate to be the future Chute Boxe representative among the heavyweight fighters. Since Assuerio Silva has left the team, Murilo 'Ninja' Rua, who was defeated by Sergei Kharitonov in Pride GP, became the only heavyweight fighter to represent Chute Boxe in the main events in Japan.

Based in Madrid, Spain, Werdum is willing to join Chute Boxe next August, after the Jiu-Jitsu World Cup. Meanwhile, Rudimar wants to give full attention for those who are already there. 'The group is almost complete. Every one who has arrived is acting like they’ve been part of the family forever', finished Fedrigo.
